From the start, this artwork was pretty ‘busy’. As always, so was the process of the pouring.
People say to me all the time “It must be relaxing?” This type of art couldn’t be further from that. Using resin means it’s a time print. I’m against the clock to get what I want, where. There’s little room for error and mistakes can be costly.
In saying that, whenever I’m pouring, I’m definitely completely focused on that and absolute nothing else. It’s like being in a complete state of stress… Until it’s finished, when it’s finished and I know it’s good. That feeling is becoming what I live for.
When I Finally stood back and had a chance to really take it in, straight away the name came to me.
It reminded me of what I would see when I was a kid, opening up my toy box. Big bright colors all twisted together but somehow all fitting perfectly.
This is ‘Treasure Chest’.
